The VAFI festival was launched in 2010 to deal with the need of specialized festivals for children and young people who approach the creation of animated films seriously. RAFI had its first festival in 2018, and it initiated the co-organization of the Festival with Art Cinema.
The VAFI & RAFI Festival has gained recognition in recent years from industry professionals worldwide. This year, the 13th annual Festival took place from the end of May to the beginning of June.
More than 700 people attended in 2022, and a total of 7,897 animated films from 98 countries were presented. In addition to film programs of official screenings and film programs of partners, the Festival also organizes workshops, lectures, presentations, exhibitions and round tables.
Croatian artists Mateja Štefinščak and Mihael Bađun conducted a series of Copic workshops for about 20 children between the ages of 7 and 14. During the workshop, children used Copic to create short animations and comics on the theme of "Strange World."
Copic will continue to support activities to cultivate the creativity of children of all ages and in all regions!
