When did you launch Copic markers?

The very first Copic markers (now Copic Classic) were launched in 1987. Prior to Copic, we were selling American markers called Speedly Marker. They were used by designers to draw rough sketches and renderings. However, the ink of Speedry Markers dissolved the lines made with the toner of copy machines. We then set out to create a graphic marker that would enable design professionals to start working with freshly printed photocopies straight away without compromising the quality of their work and this is how and why Copic was introduced.
