To be precise, Copic was developed in response to calling of time.
Copic Markers were developed in the late 1980s because there were high demands for marker ink which will not destroy lines printed out from a laser printer or standard photocopier. These digital devices are toner-based and the toner is fused to the paper. However, unlike Speedry Markers, the alcohol ink from Copic markers does not destroy it.
